About my Image Splitter
my Image Splitter is designed and built by Mohsin: a fast, private way to turn one large image into precisely sized, well-named pieces.
Why I built it
Email marketers and designers often export a whole campaign as a single tall image and then slice it by hand, a slow and fiddly job that's easy to get a pixel wrong. Many online tools also upload your image to a server. my Image Splitter does the whole job in your browser, keeps every piece at its exact size, and names the files so they stay in order.
What's under the hood
- Built with Next.js, React and TypeScript, published as a fast static site.
- Images are decoded, cut and encoded entirely in the browser with the Canvas API, with large images encoded in a background Web Worker so the page stays responsive.
- A pure, separately tested geometry engine guarantees that grid pieces cover the image exactly, with no gaps or overlaps.
- Hundreds of automated tests, including pixel-for-pixel checks of downloaded files and automated accessibility checks, run in Chrome, Edge and Firefox.
- Privacy-first: no accounts and no uploads. Visitor counting is anonymous and cookie-free.
